The club was founded as far back as 1969, and have always tried to promote model railways as a friendly and open group pastime.
Currently we have available a large multigauge test track from “00” to G scale, a “N” gauge layout, and a new “00” gauge project. We are in the process of building a new “O” gauge layout and this will be called “Kingsthorpe.”

Silverfox DCC model railway club is dedicated to railway modelling to exhibition standards. Club members are especially interested in DCC operation with a view to obtaining the best running from our models and flexibility in running our layouts.

Their meeting venue is at the old Chapel of Rest in Wolverton cemetery, accessed off the end of Woburn Avenue. Because they have exclusive use of the building, they are able to meet not only on Monday evenings (our original club night from 7.00pm to 10.00pm), but also daytimes on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The 00 ‘gaugers’ generally work on Wednesdays, and those working in N and 0 gauge on Thursdays. Visitors are of course welcome to any of these sessions.
They currently have three club layouts (all British outline):
  •  Watkin Magna (00 gauge): this is quite large and is not likely to go out to shows in its current configuration, although there is a plan that a future extension module may be configured so that it could go to shows as a stand-alone layout.
  • Foxborough (N gauge): this is what was exhibited at our 2018 show. As anybody attending our last show would have noticed, it’s still a work in progress, and hopefully in the coming months will get closer to completion.
  • OAP Central (0 gauge): this was at our show last year, also as a work in progress. Hopefully this should be completed in the coming months, and be available for shows.
More information is available on the club’s website and we welcome anybody new members.
